The strategy
A PROACTIVE APPROACH TO CHALLENGES
The strategy set the scene for future improvement through the delivery of an action plan. It includes concrete actions on environment sustainability, adaptation and mitigation of climate change, a better quality of life with a holistic and inclusive approach.
GROWING WITH A CIRCULAR PATH
To define the Strategy and the Action Plan Genoa 2050 we started from an analysis of the territorial context and its needs which led, through the construction of a multi-level governance and through an important work in partnership with other Italian and European cities, to identify the main goals for the Sustainable Urban Development and for the climate, in line with the International Agendas goals. Using an integrated and systemic approach and recognizing the importance of Internal and Functionally Connected Areas, it was possible to scale down a local strategy coherent with the European requests and expectations as well as the global trends, in order to enhance the bond between urban territory, climate and environment and also to innovate the offer of the municipal administration services.
In short
Raising awareness of local issues;
Comparison with the different existing realities through international initiatives and partnerships;
Promotion of a systemic Upscale to understand the great European and global expectations;
Down-scaling local strategies and actions to close the cycle and go beyond.
