The New Terminal of Genoa Airport

Genoa Airport: Terminal expansion, New Destinations, and Better Fare Levels

28/02/2025

The director of Cristoforo Colombo Airport, Francesco D’Amico, recently presented the major updates on Genoa’s air traffic.

On January 28th, at Palazzo Tursi, a presentation was held to mark the completion of maintenance work on the ring cycle path connecting Darsena, Dinegro, and Principe, known as the “Dinegro ring.” This project was managed by the Dutch company KLM Royal Dutch Airlines in collaboration with the Municipality of Genoa. This investment in sustainable mobility and the quality of life in the city confirms the airline’s interest in Genoa, already demonstrated by the introduction of an Amsterdam-Genoa flight with three daily frequencies during the high season. The collaboration with the carrier is set to grow, with one of the next goals being the reintroduction of the flight to Paris.

New destinations available for next summer are Warsaw and Krakow, while work is already underway for Summer 2026. At the same time, there is a strengthening of all active routes, and in this regard, discussions are ongoing with ITA Lufthansa to increase the number of flights to Rome. Parallelly, work is being done with the involved parties and ENAC to adjust fare levels to better reflect the needs of the territory.

Before the summer aviation season, the expansion of the east wing of the terminal will also be inaugurated, followed by the renovation of the current terminal, with the aim of creating a new, more innovative, sustainable space with more services for travelers.
