10/02/2025
Genoa Instruments is an innovative startup in the field of super-resolution optical microscopy, spun off from the Italian Institute of Technology (IIT), which has just secured funding of one million euros.

This achievement was made possible thanks to an investment of 800,000 euros finalized by Deep Blue Ventures (DBV), the Deep Tech Venture Capital fund that supports startups, spin-offs, and more generally, innovation initiatives in the aerospace, health, and sustainability sectors. This amount is added to the 200,000 euros contributed by other local entrepreneurs and companies.

Genoa Instruments is a solidly grounded company, founded by a team of researchers from the Italian Institute of Technology with twenty years of experience in the sector, which it is revolutionizing thanks to its flagship product, Prism – Photon-Resolved Image Scanning Microscope. This cutting-edge optical microscope combines super-resolution spatial and temporal imaging for structural and functional imaging of living samples with unprecedented detail. Its plug-and-play design makes it a very versatile item, capable of being integrated with most existing microscopy systems. The goal is to facilitate access to this type of super-resolution microscopy tools to the greatest number of operators in the healthcare sector, regardless of their budget and the size of the organization in which they conduct research, allowing significant advancements in the field.
