MIPIM 2024, Genova Municipality's stand inaugurated
Councillor Corso: 'Great interest in our city from potential European, but also American and Japanese investors'
Genova Municipality's stand at Mipim in Cannes opened today, Tuesday 12th March. A large number of mainly foreign real estate professionals and investors visited the stand where the huge model of Genova 2030, the 6 x 2 metre model of the city of the future, is on display. Opening the first day of meetings at the international exhibition in Cannes was the Councillor for Territorial Marketing Francesca Corso.
“Mipim is confirmed as an international showcase with a large turnout of selected and committed visitors” said Councillor Corso. “In the first few hours of opening, we had many visits to our stand, especially from representatives of real estate companies and international finance. Many Europeans, in particular English, Swiss, Germans, Dutch, but also Japanese and Americans as well as the unmissable French and Italians. The urban regeneration projects, in particular the Waterfront di Levante and the historic centre, are attracting a lot of curiosity and attention from the audience. The model is attracting a great deal of interest because it gives an immediate impact of the vision of the city of the future, connected by new infrastructures and undergoing strong development also from the perspective of the port.”
Inside the stand, which was also attended at the ribbon-cutting ceremony by Mipim President and CEO Michel Filzi, it is also possible to take a virtual tour, much appreciated by visitors, with a VR visor that takes you into the future, experiencing some of the Genova 2030 projects in metaverse.
Tomorrow, Wednesday March 13th, Mipim will be attended by the Councillor for Urban Planning Mario Mascia, who at 11.00 am will have a focus on urban regeneration, followed by the Waterfront di Levante, while in the afternoon he will discuss strategic connection infrastructures. On Thursday 14th, Genova's Mayor Marco Bucci and the President of the Liguria Region Giovanni Toti will be present at 11.15 am for "Genova 2030: the city of the future", followed by a series of institutional and b2b meetings.
