The "European Paganini Route” wins the title of Cultural Route.
The European Institute of Cultural Routes (EICR) has officially awarded the European Paganini Route the title of European Cultural Route.
This recognition, achieved at the end of a certification process launched in July 2025, has so far been granted to only 49 institutions across the continent. It is an important milestone that crowns years of work and has led to the establishment of strong international collaborations. Today, the network coordinates 21 partners across 10 countries, promoting and preserving the art of the violinist through events, international exhibitions, and concerts.
The route now stands as the second most significant musical itinerary in the world, after the one dedicated to Mozart, which connects Austria and Italy (certified in 2014), definitively establishing the figure of Niccolò Paganini as a landmark of European culture.
The European Paganini Route offers the opportunity to relive the memorable tour undertaken by the great composer between 1828 and 1834, which took him across 9 countries, covering more than 20,000 kilometers and performing in over 400 concerts.
This achievement adds to the success of the Rolli Days initiative, which promotes the Rolli System, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as well as the three stars awarded to Genoa as a tourist destination by the Michelin Guide, Travel & Culture section. The Ligurian capital thus confirms itself as a leading destination for high-quality cultural tourism, offering the world the image of a modern European city capable of combining the art of the celebrated Genoese violinist with the historical and artistic significance of its territory.
