SAVE THE DATE: INAUGURATION OF THE "ANELLO MEDIO-LEVANTE" FOR THE WELL-BEING OF CITIZENS

16/04/2025

The “Gli anelli del benessere” project, which began in 2018 and will be made official in 2023, was created following the establishment of the figure of the Health City Manager, the first figure in Italy to protect citizens and their wellbeing. This project is part of the international programme “Cities Changing Diabetes” - now called “Cities for Better Health” - which the City joined in 2020.

The project aims to promote an active and healthy lifestyle in order to prevent and combat metabolic diseases and eating disorders. It consists of urban trekking routes around the city perimeter, allowing people to discover Genova while keeping fit, with the support of the Komoot app and detailed information signage. These tools provide technical information and information on the main historical and artistic-cultural points of interest touched by the routes.

The “Anello Medio-Levante” will wind its way from the Waterfront di Levante, the former trade fair district regenerated by Renzo Piano's project, along the whole of Corso Italia, to the picturesque seaside village of Boccadasse, then up to the Albaro district, admiring Villa Cambiaso, the Paganini Conservatory, Villa Saluzzo Bombrini, and then back to the starting point.

The inauguration of the “Anello Medio-Levante” will provide the opportunity to explore the new route and meet experts in the field. We consider the presence of health and sports facilities at the event to be essential, with a view to raising awareness about adopting a healthy and active lifestyle. In addition, it will be an opportunity for the schools present and citizens to learn more about the health and sports facilities in the area.

We look forward to seeing you at the inauguration, on 6 May, at 09:30 a.m. at the Bagni San Nazaro in Corso Italia to undertake part of the journey with us, and at 11:00 a.m. at the Arena Albaro Village for the institutional greetings and discussion of these important issues."
