Genova, Italian excellence in technological innovation
Genoa is becoming increasingly important as a technology hub, capable of attracting large international companies.
An example of excellence in technological innovation in Genoa is the Technology & Innovation Centre of Philips, a multinational company with a long history of innovation, which in recent years has specialised in the medical sector. This centre is located in the former Kodak factory at the Porto Antico.
The centre contributes to the digitisation of the healthcare sector, one of the least digitised at the moment, by providing advanced technologies such as medical imaging and clinical data management solutions through artificial intelligence, with a focus on cybersecurity.
The aim is to improve the quality of diagnosis and optimise hospital workflows, increasing efficiency, especially in emergency rooms. The Philips Technology & Innovation Centre handles more than 10 million examinations annually, thanks to the adoption of advanced technologies, such as automated worklist management for radiologists. This centre is a benchmark for digital healthcare not only in Italy, but also in the rest of Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
This example of innovation underlines the increasingly central role of Genoa as a technology and healthcare hub. Technology not only supports, but actually improves the quality of care and operational efficiency. This further reinforces Philips' commitment to transforming healthcare globally.
