The Granarolo-Begato Sports Park Project: An Integrated Vision of Sport and Territory
The Granarolo-Begato Sports Park project is one of the most ambitious redevelopment projects for the city of Genova. The initiative aims to transform the area into a multifunctional center of excellence, combining cultural enhancement, adrenaline-fueled outdoor activities, and protection of the natural heritage.

The project concerns the Giacomo Carlini-Marco Bollesan sports complex, one of Genova's main sports centers, located along Corso Europa in the San Martino d'Albaro district. The area, bordered by Corso Europa, Via Tagliamento, and Via Vernazza, is located in a consolidated urban context close to the San Martino hospital complex and the Albaro university campus.

The Luigi Ferraris Stadium is one of the historic temples of Italian soccer. Opened in 1911, it is currently undergoing a major renovation project aimed at bringing it up to UEFA Category 4 standards, making it suitable for hosting international events and integrating it in an even more sustainable and functional way into the urban fabric of the Marassi district.
The goal is to transform the stadium into a lively facility open seven days a week, equipped with modern and sustainable services, improving accessibility and the quality of the experience for fans, visitors, and residents. Strategically located in the heart of the city, the Ferraris is well connected to major infrastructure: 10.5 km from the airport, 0.8 km from Brignole station, and 1.9 km from the Genova Est motorway exit.

Lo Stadio Luigi Ferraris è uno dei templi storici del calcio italiano. Inaugurato nel 1911, oggi è oggetto di un importante progetto di ristrutturazione finalizzato all’adeguamento agli standard UEFA di Categoria 4, rendendolo idoneo a ospitare eventi internazionali e a inserirsi in modo ancora più sostenibile e funzionale nel tessuto urbano del quartiere di Marassi.
L’obiettivo è trasformare lo stadio in una struttura viva sette giorni su sette, dotata di servizi moderni e sostenibili, migliorando accessibilità e qualità dell’esperienza per tifosi, visitatori e residenti. Situato in una posizione strategica nel cuore della città, il Ferraris è ben collegato alle principali infrastrutture: 10,5 km dall’aeroporto, 0,8 km dalla stazione Brignole e 1,9 km dal casello autostradale di Genova Est.
